Artist Statement I paint and create art because she compels me to. Everything I think and do is metaphoric and artistic. Everything I hear and see is inspiration. The process of creation comes natural. No one had to push me to do what I do, I have been creating art since I could hold the proper tools. Deric Samuel Hettinger, Born in Reading Pennsylvania, May 25, 1980. He was born into a very craft oriented and artistic family. His father, is a retired graphic designer. His mother hand crochets beautifully colored scarves and blankets. His Great-Grandfather George Falk was a self taught artist prodigy, who made his own paints.
